I have a dream!

A couple of years ago I stumbled over a couch made out of a Dodge Dart rear end. As I own a Dart myself the spontaneous reaction was to ask the owner if it was for sale witch it wasn't! But the idea of building my own Dart couch was born then and there.

Lately I have taken some small steps towards starting up the project. I have found a 4 door wreck that is stripped of all its valuable parts and the owner is willing to sell. The car has been sitting outside for more than 30 years. Maybe not the optimal starting point but on the other hand I do not need to feel bad about cutting the car up as it is beyond restoration.

The plan is to do most of the work myself. Upholstery I might have someone else do but we are far from that stage yet!

The picture below shows the donor car, a 1966 four door Dodge Dart. The right front fender was still in place which helped determine the year.

The seller had cut the rear end of for easy transport (February 2020). Thank you for that!

After a rinse with the pressure washer the project was moved indoors for further inspection.

Yes there is rust in all the usual places and then some.
